About me

I’m a photographer based on the northern edge of Southampton, Hampshire, where I live with my wife, Debbie. My main photographic interest is capturing the emotion and happiness of people, wherever they may be. I enjoy my photography and have a relaxed unhurried approach which I believe is essential.

I’ve been practising photography since my father gave me a 35mm SLR as a child. It had a single 50mm lens with which he taught me the essentials of manual photography. Many years and countless rolls of film yielded some stunning results from that simple camera and techniques which I still rely on today.

I migrated from film to digital in 2004 and now exclusively use Canon professional equipment including the 5D and 5D mk2 with 35, 50, 85 and 70-200mm lenses. I depend heavily on this equipment to ensure success in any light.

Over the years I’ve been lucky enough to travel to some amazing parts of the world and indulge in my other photographic interest, landscapes. Something I still love, even though being awake to capture dawn is sometimes a struggle.

My other interests include scuba diving, snowboarding and mountain biking. All of which have led me to some incredible places in the world.
